My Beloved Poem by Lina Vasquez

My Beloved

Rating: 4.3

An empty chasm remains
Bound, by a serene solitude.
Darkness
steers an abandoned tunnel
where your warmth once kindled.
A scattered fragment, yet it still pulsates.
It is not your presence that I miss,
A pain, far greater
remains encapsulated between my lungs
In my chest.

I miss the fire
Which blazed through your fierce eyes,
I miss the security
Found wrapped deep in your arms
You could clone your body into a billion figures
And yet,
Not even one would slightly phase me.
For it was a love far greater than understanding can reach.
Eyes masked your shadows,
And my heart,
your internal wounds.

Or perhaps it is simply two in the morning, and all I am feeling is a loneliness
that every soul who has ever loved and lost feels,
When the moon is full
And the heart is heavy-
When darkness echoes dangerous thoughts,
and pours out razor sharp reminders
of a pain so bitter sweet.

It's a wonderful poem, with an auxiliary note. 'Or perhaps it is simply two in the morning, and all I am feeling is a loneliness that every soul who has ever loved and lost feels, ' - I know this feeling, very well said. 'When the moon is full And the heart is heavy-' -At four in the morning here, I saw the moon half full, yet the heart was heavy.
