My confession to love

Here I stand and wonder why, I try to understand the word love.
But yet I can't seem to find it in my heart.

He says he loves me all the time, and I try to believe it's true.
So how do I get the strength to say it back?

I've been hurt by those who deceived me and made me love thee.
And now all I have left inside me is hate for everything that has
anything to do with love.

They promise me they won't hurt me and they promise not to leave me.
And even he I can't believe. So I must confess I cannot pretend so
this must be the end.

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
