My Corner Dark Poem by Nisho Olme

I scratched away the skin
Beneath the markings that we made
I scratched until it bled
So I could make the memories fade
And when the blood could not erase
The pain you left behind
I ran away forever
To a place it couldn’t find
I left behind the sorrow
But I left behind the love
I fell into a darkness
That I couldn’t rise above
I swallowed in the hopelessness
And washed it down with fear
Then threw up both in agony
And held my markings near
I wept from both my failure
And the life that passed me by
Beneath the markings that we made
I slowly start to die
