My Dream Poem by Marius Kruger

My Dream

Rating: 5.0

I had a dream, a dream of you.
White and pure like an angel standing in the morning dew.
Wind was sweeping through your hair, like a paper boat on a stream,
Flowers falling from the trees, the most beautiful picture my eyes had ever seen.

I opened my eyes and realised that i was standing next to the one I love.
You looked like an angel, a white feather sent from above.
I felt the wind blowing through my hair and saw flowers floating in the sky.
It felt so peaceful, so quiescent, I never wanted to say goodbye.

I turned to the one I love with the wind blowing from behind,
you layed there on a bed of flowers, so beautiful, so kind.
You gave me a smile, the most beautiful I'd ever seen.
I still wish you could have seen it through my eyes to know what i mean.

I caught one of the floating flowers and placed it in your hair.
You gave me that smile again, so wonderful, so rare.
We whispered soft and sweet words to one another, the kind you know, but don't know how to pronounce.
The words came out beautifully, like a stream in a forrest, the most beautiful sound.

We stood up and started to dance, still whispering soft and gentle words to the ones we love.
With the moonlight shinning over your face and the sound of two turtle doves.
a Whole choir of animals, making the most beautiful sounds, even the birds with their flutter,
It was like God had sent an angel to be the choirs conductor.

Suddenly I saw the years passing by and we were very old.
You still had that same look in your eyes and a smile so rare, and I was already bold.
We were still dancing and whispering soft and gentle words to one another
and small children were dancing and playing with each other.

Then we both were standing in an open field with flowers so far as the eyes could see,
and the wind came and swept us away to cherish one another till eternity.

The dream was so real and true,
Then I realized it wasn't a dream...that was and still is what I see when I look at you.
