Stealthily He enters
My most unwelcome guest,
Waiting,
For neither permission nor admission.
Unannounced, amidst deep silence
He makes his entry
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere
By undeniable right’nd might
Vanquishing all challengers
To silence.
Leaving those Unfortunate,
He cares not to grace,
To keening wails.
Drawing closer, He
Nudges, beckons, embraces
With his cold clammy hands-
I can do nothing
But reckon His biding
And follow Him.
For, Death, my guest
Has now turned
My gracious host.
