My Heart And Soul Poem by Zachary Rea

My Heart And Soul

I think I'm in love with you.
The more I spend wrapping my mind around the idea
The more I spiral down this vortex of confusion and happiness
We simply call love.

You're to blame for my sleepless nights,
For occupying my dreams with beautiful sights of romantic nights,
lit by candle lights flickering off your smooth complexion
Until I wake up, realizing you're nowhere to be found.

Why did you pull the trigger to this love gun,
Shooting this blissful bullet through my heart that shortens my breathing
When you walk into the room?
I'm nearing the edge of this cliff and about to dive
into this red sea of passion to swim toward the shores of your cleansing soul.

I think I love your eyes when they twinkle in the presence of sunshine.
I think I love your laugh and how you can't stop when I tell a pathetic joke.
I think I love your philosophy on life and how all you've ever wanted is happiness for a change.

Well, I have happiness to give.
I have jokes to tell.
I have a smile that can shimmer in your world.

It must be true.
I'm in love with you.
The galaxy is a grain of sand compared to the amount of love I have for you.

I cherish the little things you fill my life with.
I only wish I could prove how much you mean to me.
