Sad (K) Night Poem by Zachary Rea

Sad (K) Night

I have failed to protect ma lady's castle,
the castle I had sworn an oath to defend
from any and every foe that dare threaten it.

My honor has shattered along with my heart,
littering the field where we spent our days caressing each other in our love.

I was ignorant in thinking that you, my divine sun, would forever radiate in my eyes
that I never saw the malevolent moon eclipse my sight of you until darkness consumed my soul.

Now I must live in the shadows with the regret I've brought upon myself,
bare this heavily weighted armor of stress I've caused for both of us
and bathe eternally in the tears I've forced you weep.
