My Insanity Poem by Makabongwe Nkambule

My Insanity

But the insanity -my insanity- my inevasible reality.
It owns half my face and mind,
gnawing, probing, prowling.
I cannot let it escape.
I must hide it, cover it, chain it.
It is hidden deep in secrets, covered in lies, chained in thoughts.
Secrets reveal, Lies reveal, Thoughts reveal.
I cannot keep it.
How can you not see it?
Has it become me?
Have I become it?
Please can you tell me!
Am I Me? Am, I, Me, surely it has me.
I must reflect on these thoughts like I would on mirror...oh no! My face, it has my face, my figure!
It, it, it...
But this is insanity -my insanity- my inevasible reality.
