I am a child of innocence,
I am a child of grace,
Sent here for this existance
In this God forsaken place;
I did not come with orders
I do not know the rules,
I only do the best I can
And often I'm the fool;
But this is my existance -
I'll learn from my mistakes,
Experiences varied
To teach me what it takes
To blossom into wisdom,
To love my fellow man,
To sow the seeds of friendship
In every way I can;
And if I use my talents
The best that I know how,
My spirit may touch someone
Who really needs me now;
I chose my present journey
Waiting on the other side -
If I knew then what I know now
I might rethink the ride!
Quite a sobering write, linda...one of Good Will & Friendship..Yuur message is one of Clarion vision as to weighing the overall past versus a small crack in the ice.... fine penning from a talent dear...'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''frank
Linda, it's too bad life doesn't come with an owners manual and a road map, instead we've got to figure it all out as we go along. Great poem... a lot of truth in it! Brian
If I knew then what I know now I might rethink the ride! How true...but thats life and thats how we gain.Great read! ! Love/Ray
A superbly delivered morning (here anyway) sermon Linda! As Alison says, funny, too. Well done.
Linda, Your first two lines say it all. Beautifully. And your last two remind us of the need to add a dash of humour every now and then. Lovely poem. Warmly Allie
