My Love Poem by Dustin Newman

My Love

Bring to me My Love. For it is lost.
Search in vain I must.
My eyes shall not meet their rest.
Dreams knock but know no entrance.
The bee drawn to the flower. It has purpose.
Lightning breaks forth. Violence seeking ground.
So too do I run, where I am drawn.
As I ponder, My Love, where you lie.
My heart bleeds tears. Crying your name.
My Love carried away as I grew close.
I am not wanted. Only tolerated.
Truth rushes forth. A torrent ripping wave.
Pain thought not to exist. Tearing me apart.
Like starving lion.
Sadness.
Sadness cannot be contained inside such a vessel.
For I am weak and breakable.
Set upon me never to wake. For without My Love,
I am nothing more than a hollow tree.
Weeping.
Branches break with every thought of you.
Return to the earth I must, to squelch such hurt.
Forever I sleep without My Love.
