My love has gone away from me.
Now I'm in great pain
Can't you see?
It is like a thorn among the roses scraping at my hand.
Why she left me without even writing me a goodbye note.
This I surely do not understand.
Time marched on and my love did not return.
Meanwhile my heart ached and burned.
Then one day I discovered
That she had found another lover.
Again it is like a thorn among the roses scraping at my hand.
