My Love/ Kali, Mahakali/ Deepavali Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

My Love/ Kali, Mahakali/ Deepavali

My Love

My love is like a red rose,
A red, red rose
Splashed in dew drops
So had been under the misty night
All through it,
Lying in wait.

A red, red rose,
My love is like a red rose
Splashed in dew drops
So shiny and bright,
Dazzling in hue.

Kali, Mahakali

A huge statue of Kali
Dark black
Looking strange,
Awesome and bizarre,
Something mythical and mystical,
Supernatural and ncturanal
Which but I cannot divulge.

I just see the statue
Made from clay,
How it is painted,
How bloody and blissful
The image is,
How the cataclysm!

Deepavali

The Festival of Lights
Will emit light
With the earthen diyas
With the wick and oil
Will burn
Around the statue of Kali
Struggling with darkness,
Leading from ignorance to knowledge,
The knowledge of the self.
