My Mamma Poem by Poetical Analysis

My Mamma

My Mamma

My mamma done told me that my daddy is gone

My mamma done told me she's my only one

My mamma done protected me in the most loving cage

My mamma done never resolved her own rage

My mamma believes what she does is right

My mamma closes my eyes at the simplest fright

My mamma won't let me forget her pain

My mamma swears love ain't just a game

My mamma wants me to obey, to do what she say

And my mamma ain't willing to die, to bring about change

But, my mamma done gave me a body to name
