My Mother
She was my mother
From 'tis earth up to heaven;
I had but her- no other
To whom my problem I shared.
Love was the place in my mother's heart,
And full of compassionate care;
Warm kisses played from her tender lips,
With touch on her loving breast.
In the midst of my misfortune and pain,
Embracing words she used to explain;
My pensive life awakening,
To reach my golden dream.
(Dedicated to my mother, Mrs. Jovita Lagera Abarca Dominguez, who passed away in the year 1985)
