My Resting Place Poem by Marshall Peter Cline II

My Resting Place

Thunder rain and lighting
strike down upon me
that final flash of light
can only make me free
so when the sky bleeds green
and the winds go insane
my heart will start to boil
and things wont seem the same
the endless echoes of thunder
reaching into space
this is where i make my peace
this is my resting place

Very interesting. If you have a spare minute try 'Storm'. It is similair to your piece.

Hi Marshall, I enjoyed this piece..You have constructed it well with much feeling and imagery..your choice of nature to describe your inner emotional feeling is crisp..which gives this poem a sharp edge to its intensity. Nice work...keep expressing Best of Health & Happiness Jon

While glancing at many poems on this site, I was fortunate to come across this piece. The imagery in this poem is quite mesmerizing. The way the poet captured the 'resting place' was quite ironic because the setting depicted does not bring to mind an image I would deem restful. The contrast between the poet's resting place and the actual place depicted cause me to conclude that the poet is not depicting a place of peace per say, but rather a place of death. I find an inner turmoil within the speaker and I feel that the author did well in expressing this. I enjoyed it, and I was unable to send the poet a message but it definitely shows promise.
