My Rock Poem by rachel reed

My Rock

my rock is crumbling
all over me.
a fire is burning somewhere in the distance.
i can see the light in my disappointment.

she let me down.
came attacking like a mad lion.
destroying all my hopes and dreams.

she was supposed to hold me up,
and yet she watched me fall.
my sister, oh sister,
you have no idea how ruined i am.

i try to pick up the pieces,
keep the fire burning.
but the fire burns out.
and my ending is clear.

this sin i thought i left behind
is calling to me again.
the sweet call of the razor blade.
just one deep cut and everything is over.

just because my rock came crumbling down.
all over me
and the fire in the distance
burned out from my disappoinment.
