My Rose Of Sweetness Poem by Lloyd Savage

My Rose Of Sweetness

Like a sweet rose I picked you
from among the thorns,
where some vines and hedges grew
hiding from life's storms.
Like tender petals I will keep you,
as soft as your heart's kind,
and like the rose of sweetness
only lovers come to find.
I shall never leave thee
nor yet forsake thee here;
For you're my rose of sweetness
forever when I'm near.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
While observing a rose after my love went away I felt the inspiration for this poem. I wrote the poem in Louisiana my home state. I dedicate it to anyone it touches. I will submit others later, I write a lot of love, philosophy, religion and humor poetry, I have some good upcoming poetry coming up to be put on here. I use to be the President of a poetic organization and we all learned good poetry from bad from the way the public received or rejected the poetry. The ones I plan to submit most people enjoyed, so I hope you enjoy these as others already have. I do not write to compete but to share a God given talent. I was once called the way with words poet.
