My School Poem by Renu Beri

My School

The lofty, dignified, awesome structure,
Abode of perennial learning and culture,
Overlooking the undulating hills around,
Towering over the spacious green ground.

Unfailingly buses meander towards it,
Halting in a yellow line, straight and neat,
From them descend gay faces, shining eyes,
In eager anticipation of all before them lies.

The schedule begins with the daily prayer,
Invoking the Almighty present everywhere,
Renewing the pledge to bring total perfection
In every physical, moral and spiritual action.

The subdued murmurs from various classes,
Indicate the commitment of lads and lasses,
Their absolute concentration to every lesson
Conveys their profound and intense passion.

Come recess! The school resounds with laughter,
Children witness their teachers' nature softer,
Their roving eyes keen their protege to supervise,
Strict and stern- yet affectionate, kind and wise.

The school bell finally strikes for the day,
The children homeward make their way,
The buses recede from the panoramic view,
A total calm pervades the atmosphere new.

The school stands solid, sublime, proud,
In peaceful ambience it is fully shroud,
Recollecting the proceedings of the day,
A mystical smile on its face doth play.

A guardian of young lives manifold,
A spectator to the making of futures untold,
Breathes a silent invocation to the Lord,
Bless forever my family, dear God.
