My Shadow Poem by Amanda Larsen

My Shadow

Scream to my face that I'm worthless,
As if I don't already know...
Open a woond that is already bleeding,
Spit in a soul that is already dirt...

I've learned long ago
How to swallow the tears burning my eyes,
How to smile as I wach one more piece of me die...
When I run out of pieces,
I'll know I'm free to fly...

The second best and second worst...
The selfish cry, the want, the thirst...
I am too weak to not be wrong,
So I will drown until I'm strong...
What I don't say hides in my eyes.
If you saw yourself in my shadow
would guilt push my to forgive my lies?
