My Shoes Poem by Cordell Sundstrom

My Shoes

Rating: 5.0

The soles are soaked wet,
The laces are worn,
My arches ache,
And my passions are torn.

I'd like to run,
But this pair is unfit,
It's a long journey up,
For now, I must sit.

Put yourself in my shoes,
And Ill take yours,
You feel my discomfort,
The sensations of sores.

You tell me they're tight,
I tell you I know,
Ive been wearing these for some time now,
And its hard to grow.

Kick them off,
Having understood the constraint,
That has kept my progression,
Only so faint.
