My Soul So Quiet Poem by Shalom Freedman

My Soul So Quiet

Rating: 5.0

MY SOUL SO QUIET

In the afternoon haze
Still waiting for the rain
In a world too warm
For the time of the year
I look and listen
To the alien loud sounds
And wonder why
My soul so quiet

Perhaps I know
At the end of my years
A peace at who I am
And what I have been

I need be nothing now
Than what I have already been
It may have not been much
And not enough
But it is what I have been
And what I am.
