My Steel Vault Poem by Isabella Francis

My Steel Vault

I lost my only love
Without my fault.
It's just as if I'm locked
In an airtight vault.

A little joy does seep in here
With lots of sorrows and misery
The joy is not genuine either
Just full of treachery.

I live a double life
Wholesome outside, Shattered inside
Some people have reached this side
Still, nobody has illuminated my dark side.

The smile on my face
Is miles away from it's origin
Whenever I try to find it,
My head starts to spin.

My lost love, my double life, my lost smile
Are not at all because of my fault
Yet I accept them
Because they exist in my own steel vault.
