My Struggle Poem by Randy McClave

My Struggle

If you're absent during my struggle
And with me you don't want to love or snuggle,
And if you don't wanna be at my side
As if I had died.
I won't beg you to stand or to be with me
Especially when you don't want others to see,
If you don't want to stand with me when I fight
Well, that's alright.
When I am having a conflict
And then with me you don't want to stick
Showing me you don't want to be with me in the rough times
Then I will know all the signs.
You will be with me when I'm doing good and well
And when in a good house I do dwell
And when I'm feeling good and not at all ill
With me you will be there still.
I hope that you will remember this
I was always there to support you with a hug and a kiss,
So, if you think of me as a mess
Then don't expect to be present during my success.
