My Thoughts, Or Are They Yours? Poem by Josephine Adrian

My Thoughts, Or Are They Yours?

Rating: 5.0

Jobs, school,
Studying and bills.
Teaching and learning;
My brain fills.

Fills with frustration;
Fills with confusion.
Is anything mine,
In this intrusion?

We have thoughts all day,
But we push them aside.
We can't blame them,
They're just along for the ride.

Rushing through our heads,
From here to there.
Is there free space...
Anywhere?

Death, pain,
Self-mutilation.
Can you take a step back?
I got lost in translation.

Happiness, hugs.
Everything warm.
A place we can go,
To escape the harm.

Alone with our thoughs,
We figure things out.
We may not know everything,
Or what life's all about.

But at least we have them,
And they are our own.
Does someone else have them?
If they do, I'm not alone.

I can totally relate to this one! I understand the frustration and the confusion, but know that God is walking along side you and leading you every step of the way!
