My Urhobo Poem by Alufa Oke Joshua

My Urhobo

The land is bless with green
Yet the farm has no harvester,
The land is still with Oak trees
Yet we invest in mushrooms,
The land became famous before we
Were born
Yet grasses are called grace,
The land is Canaan
Yet we can't leave the Egyptian
Mentality,
The land have no limit
Yet we fear to climb higher,
The land have kings with leaders
Yet we are subjected under an
unknown Rulers,
The land we seek is with us
Yet we have failed to embrace
It,
The land have been habited by
Strangers and progress more than they
Came
Yet we chose to hate progress,
The land is fearless
Yet we are afraid to be bold,
The land welcomed everyone of us
From birth and to death
Yet we are not appreciative,
My Urhobo, my land, my people
Yet i speak in subdue because
My coat is same as Joseph's
Before his brothers.
I will forever be proud and
Grateful to my land and Urhobo
People. I love Urhobo
