Myriads Of Haitian-Americans And Friends Will Vote Poem by Hebert Logerie

Myriads of Haitian-Americans will vote in the next US election
We are sending stern warnings to the current administration
We will vote for one party and we will rock the boat
We will be well organized and we will vote
And our votes will count this time
We are extremely serious this time
Our people are fleeing: natural disasters, death, and violence
Persecution, injustice, deadly bandits and gangs
Our people deserve respect and compassion
We will vote for a better administration
We all thought that the Jim Crow era was over
We are seeing a resurgence of violence and dishonor
Against our people. The Afghans cannot vote yet
We, Haitians, want to be welcome like the Afghans
Today, we are willing to place a bet
If this administration keeps on dishonoring Haitians
Many politicians will not be re-elected
They will be astoundingly rejected
By the voters. We will vote en masse
And we will not forget the past
Myriads of Haitian-Americans will vote in the next US election
We are smart. This is a stern warning to the administration.
