Mysterious Inner Poem by Samya Bose

Mysterious Inner

What exists in between
My image and shadow,
To fathom even I need to throw
The light of introspection upon it.

Its gray interior is draped
With colours of contradiction,
And ephemeral emotion,
From exterior.

Brightest of the possibilities
May come out from its depth,
But may end up with death,
Like fugitive bubbles.

If it seems crazy
On one fresh moment,
It may look prudent,
Just after though.

Often, it vows with truth
To forge unconditional alliance,
Though keeping the reticence
Parts in the midway.

Flaws it can not see
Of the one it finds so close,
As thorns below the scarlet rose
Are overlooked in amazement.

However, this proximity
Becomes predictably repulsive,
As its possessive self starts to revive
And gets in the way.

Often it seeks freedom
From the bondage of mundanity,
Though never meets tranquility,
Even if it is unfettered.

It strives against oppression
While suffering from the same,
But oppresses without a hint of shame,
Once it tastes prosperity.

Its philanthropy surfaces
With spontaneity at times,
Though nimbly sublimes,
As the heat of vested interest rises.

Hidden beneath this apparent contradiction
And predictable unpredictability,
Lies a feeling of mere insecurity,
I can make out.
