Nanook Poem by Percy Dovetonsils

Nanook

Rating: 5.0

of the North
wanted to be
a movie star
but did not know it
or care,
till Robert Flaherty
came out of the air
with his camera
and gramophone
and Nanook joined
John Gilbert,Garbo,
Barrymore,
Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.,
Alla Nazamova,
and Lillian Gish
in a long
footlight parade
from Broadway
to Hollywood
to Hudson's Bay.

The Great White Way
met the Great White North
shimmering
under the klieg lights,
the aurora borealis.

Thanks for sharing this poetic review of this 1922 docudrama film of the silent era. It inspired me to know more about this production. Thanks, Percy.
