A mother bird knows best,
How to build a comfortable nest,
For her little baby's cuddly crust,
And to hold her tightly in her breast.
Creating a nest with little blades of grass,
Searching for stumps of barks and leaves,
Picking up rootlets, tiny stones and weeds,
Flying relentlessly to build a nest of their pick!
Innovative birds!
Each bird has her selection and style,
Female Robin and Red-winged Blackbird,
Choose the site and build their nest with flair.
Clever birds! Woodpeckers and Kingfishers!
They dig holes to hide their eggs and young ones,
Protecting them from predators,
Keeping them safe from big birds, snakes and mammals.
Try watching a bird build her nest!
It is a fine piece of art work,
Nature's sophisticated craft,
So smart, elegant and chic!
A south Asian woman is an elegant bird. It beautifully knits a nest for the ole family.
Wow! Such nice description! Mother nature & her artists are just amazing
A beautiful portrayal of how birds build their nests. This poem resonates with me especially the last stanza. I concur with the wonderful thoughts of the brilliant Poetess that indeed birds build their nests with elegance and sophistication. A fine piece of art work. A well crafted and executed write.
Try watching a bird build her nest! It is a fine piece of art work.... //.... Absolutely wonderful portrayal. The concerns of all mother birds while making their nests. Safety of their eggs, their hatching and then their little ones. It's really an art to build a nest with so much perseverance and instinctive work. Thanks, Geeta ji.
