As I sit down and look around
I wonder how I could have missed
The sun above the hills as it rises
The peak of a mountain on a clear day.
The white clouds slowly moving above me
Hiding an azure sky, reflected by the sea,
The dark clouds that hover, warning,
Of the rain that comes down in sheets.
The fog-covered mountains on a cool day
The rainbow that creeps when it showers on a sunny day
The shady trees, tall, sturdy and mighty
Just like people in their prime, living not just existing.
The multi-colored gardens
When flowers are in full bloom
The endless seas reaching far beyond the horizon
The sunset giving way to the moon.
The multitude of stars on a clear night,
Showing constellations like the “big dipper”
The cool winds of Christmas time
The warmth of love on peoples’ faces.
