Nature Is Just A Name Poem by Nidhi Agrawal

Nature Is Just A Name

Rating: 4.5

Tiny potted plants stood in a line
in the well manicured garden
Lush green grass was mowed
into perfect little diamonds.
Sunlight fell on floor in structured
lines through window panes
Even the rain was seen quietly
from safe corners inside.
The breeze wasn't felt on cheeks
but heard through the wind chimes
Butterflies didn't visit the flowers
left in stagnant water in a vase.
Beautiful cultured homes where
the elements have been tamed
Nothing wild, free or chaotic
Mother nature is just a name.

Ok, now I see it quite differently and I understand what you mean. It's an unnatural taming of nature by people.

Nidhi, you re-create this beautiful scene perfectly with your words. You really have talent. And do I understand your poem correctly? - the beautifully cultured homes show evidence of meticulous care and design. So too Nature, that people like to call Mother Nature. A cop-out for saying Creator, who, in fact, also has a name, and deserves the praise for his creation.

Thanks for the praise Laurie. Yes nature also shows great care and meticulous design and certainly deserves praise, but despite the design everything is allowed to be free and changeable which isn't so inside our houses that we want to be perfectly planned and maintained. I hope you can relate to this. And I appreciate your thoughts on this poem.
