Never Been Qualified Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Never Been Qualified

These days upon us to witness them lived,
Become much more appreciated.
When one awakens to decide,
To be oneself.
Regardless who it is that criticizes.
Since this by others,
Known and shown them to do.
Should open one's eyes to realize.
Who it is still attempting to impress.
To have yet accepted to address,
Their own identity.
Feeling that less.
With it hoped to be approved,
For a life to excuse...
The truth of being uncomfortable.
In their own skin.

And once that day comes,
With a doing to happen to them...
They will find it petty and pointless,
To pass judgement on anyone.
With this to awaken in their minds to realize,
That had never been qualified to do it.
Especially when their own issues,
Were quickly identified...
The moment they opened their mouths.
To spew insecurities.
Left to expose them recognized.
By those who knew them to know what they are!
