Never Came Poem by alexis blewett

Never Came

All alone smoking my last cigarette.
I ignore the elecrtical buzz and noise from the city life.
I wait for the call.
The sound of your voice.
But it never rang.
I leave and wait for the call.
But I didn't get it.
I sit and pray.
Pray that I'm not too late.
I rush into the city streets.
I hear the sounds of the sirens.
I try and hurry.
I see you, I hear your voice.
I breake down.
Nothing is as it seems.
Later I say:
*I've been calling for years and years and you never left me any messages! Where were you when everything was falling apart? *
**Where were you when the world stopped turning? **
**On that september day.'**
I look at you and you say:
'I was roaming around lookin for you. But I was lookin all the wrong spots. I was told that *you were found lying on the floor*. With a note that said: In the end, every one ends up alone.
And Losin you, The only who's ever known. I was lost and insecure.
l know it's too late to say I'm sorry but you found me.'
*Early morning, city breaks.*
I stand on the corner of 5th and lone star,
I found him smoking his last cigarette
'Where've you been? '
