On The Edge Poem by alexis blewett

On The Edge

I've been staanding on this cliff of life. just barley hanging on. And now I'm losing grip.
I wasn't always of the edge. I used to be in the center.
But when I started pushing. I began pushing myself to the edge.
I was lost and scared and in desprate need of help.
But never could I tell in fear of getting caught.
My addiction was the fuel.
Too stoned too see the edge.
I barley caught my self.
I managed to get back up to the surface.
Thanks to you.
But too soon I was over the edge...all over again.
But with out words you heard my cries.
I took your hand and you help back to shore.
I asked you in a note if we could be together.
You wrote back.
You said yes.
I want to say thank you.
You found me just in time.
You pulled me back from the edge.
I take your hand and ever day I'm going farther and farther away from the edge.
Now the pushing I will be doing is you.
