Never-Ending Cycle Poem by Ben mcelfresh

Never-Ending Cycle

The missing pieces you feel
That broken feeling deep inside
You know it all too well
It was taken from you far too many times

Alone you sit and cry
Wondering where the past has went to
Begging the future to come
And make you whole again

The scars upon your skin reminds you
Brings back every memory of what you couldn't change
Every attempt to end your life was meaningless
Each time you fell to your knees before the deed was done

You couldn't understand why you couldn't do it
You just wanted an escape from the pain
But instead you brought more upon yourself
A never-ending cycle that needed to be broken

Finally your broke down and cried every last drop
You cursed the blade that brought all this about
You swore this cycle would end
The pain would end there

You held on for a moment and found what was taken from you
You found the end to the cycle that you swore you would
You now looks at the scars as proof of what you overcame
You have finally become you, once again.
