Never Has It Failed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Never Has It Failed

The obvious contradicted.
Never has the attention given,
To it...
Failed to be disputed.
For what it is to witness.

The victim is interrogated.
The instigator seeks empathy.
And the one thought to sit,
In an untouchable position...
Defends their right to ignite,
Disrespectful and demeaning...
Thoughtless comments.
Demands an apology.
With forgiveness,
Immediately in public given.

The deeper the wound,
Shown and known inflicted.
More shallow become,
The liars who deceive...
Their intentional misdeeds.
And...
If the media is near,
To be conveniently around.
Out from mouths is truth,
Heard and spewed to believe...
Who the wicked doers are.
Doing their best to defend,
Disgusting ways displayed.
With attempts to erase,
That which has for decades...
And for many years more,
Too obviously given support.
As if to endorse,
Their despicable activities.
Yet...
Continued ignored,
Is the victim made the culprit!
To endure,
Obtained integrities.
Abilities, capabilities...
And identities ruined.
By those self righteous.

Is the victim made the culprit. A poetic narration of the wickedness in high places. Great work.
