Never Letting Go Poem by Laura Rodriguez

Never Letting Go

Tomorrow morning,
when I hug you,
I promise I will not let go.
Once my arms lock themselves around your neck,
I will not let go.
But if I have to let go,
I will breathe you in,
memorize how my arms feel numb,
how you whisper to me 'I love you',
feel how my heart beats fast,
and memorize your pretty angel face when we part.
But I will never let you go,
you will always be my best friend.
No matter how far away I am,
I will always be with you, Julie.
I love you, my best friend.
