Night-Crawlers Festival (Senryu) Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Night-Crawlers Festival (Senryu)

Rating: 5.0

They are night-crawlers
Left their night trails on clay court
Which I saw at times.

These brick dust tunnels
Laced together like a web
Of moist red brick dusts.

Here again last night
They danced their best snaking rhymes
Under moist dark sky.

It's their good display
But I couldn't see them play.
Sleep kept me away.

Under dark Fall sky
These earthworms had their good times.
Is this dating night?

I was so surprised:
Their trails were well organized
In the dark of night.

Before dawn, they're gone
Burrowed back into moist ground
Where they call sweet home.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It was a nice surprise to come across a nice beauty that was left behind by night-crawlers on a clay tennis court on a Friday morning of Autumn.
