Night Is Deep Now Poem by Neela Nath Das

Night Is Deep Now

Rating: 5.0

I'll sit face to face
with me and interrogate
my soul about
my rise and fall.
Night is deep now
and my tired couch
is reclining on me
as the tasks did
from morning to dusk.
They tossed me
on the hot pan
all day long,
tenaciously and
without any reason,
except pence and penny.
If you ask me to be
lucid in explaining
my terms and to deepen
my tones, I can't
because, the diction
which deliberately
appear under the
pressure of my index
finger are forcing
to get in on the screen.
This is my fate,
my inevitable lot,
like my love,
instead of your scolding
and hatred I can't expose.
It's your destiny
and mine too.
Scorching yet tolerable!
I am now face to face
with I and me!

Conversations with inner self is the first place to begin when you want to reflect and shape your life. A nice opus worth writing about. great one!

many things are coming to my mind after reading this...E.Sewell's New Year Resolution in which she intends and resolutes to drink quietness in long draughts, and ask herself twice a day who she is, and then decides to lie in the bony arms of reality...your face to face meeting with yourself is a panacea for evils, suggested by Russell too..he advocates solitude for this very reason....it is deeply philosophical poem!
