The sunset has been sold
Sinking into the ocean red and gold
Night has pulled its dark curtain
Stars will sneak a smile of that I’m certain
The night wind howls, the night wind bites
Clouds move in like runaway kites
Frothy waves rush in like tears cried
Caressing the cool sand with beaming pride
Sandpipers play a game of give and take
Tiptoeing across the shore with nothing at stake
A soft creeping fog lingers like a lazy afternoon
Wrapping its white cotton arms around a pale moon
A sight that takes your breath away
One of natures’ greatest play
Stillness settles in like a long lost lover
A wisp of warm air sneaks in undercover
We stand alone as two bodies meld into one
Together we dream the glory of the morning sun
It will be a night to remember
As our eyes close like the last dying ember
