Nightmares Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Nightmares

Rating: 5.0

Take flight from sleep… old rancid dreams
Go away cursed thoughts that rip at seams
A dusty haze gnaws with rusting teeth
Black ink transfuses as blood seeps

An icy presence chills and clings
Halting a stalled breath that death brings
Stealing the sunlight and casting shadows
Leaving a fragile thin shell that is hollow

Heal scarred flesh… lift the shroud that conceals
Allow yourself to follow a path that reveals
Lift the burden and let it go…watch it disappear
Detoxify your fears…wipe away the tears
