No Face To Blame Poem by Engy El Ghanam

No Face To Blame

' I cant forget her..' so he said to me
like a burden that he yearns to set free
' am not in love, am over her '
'its just the memory that i bear '
and i wondered throughout every thought
about the mist of pain the words have brought
how the pictures on the walls do lie
whilst these carved on the heart wont die
how the memories stand to fight for the right to stay
in every twisted possible way
builds a block between the sight and the step ahead
the last minute debate before the curtains are shed
There's a line as thin and as fragile as a straw
between the dream you seek and the memory that you know
the dream is promising yet the past is bittersweet
when u mislead your thoughts, you lose the ground beneath your feet
what's gone must leave no trace carved on your path
a mirror is nothing but overlapping layers of glass
and the pain...must have a face to blame
That's why for a hundred times you've said her name
its only human to be so arrogant at the heart
lack the courage to admit the urge to stay with those who part
i...have chosen to not be a mirror, not to shine
transparent glass is so divine
chosen not to add a layer of despair to a layer of sadness
to keep the ration, and sanity throughout the madness
those who chose to turn their back and leave
are not credible to name my dream naive
tomorrow falls for no lies of yesterday
its your quest to be named a predator or a prey
resign the life of memories, the falsehood of assumptions
seek no remedies, no more debates, and no redemptions
and call no memory with a name
for an END is an end, and all the stories end the same
