No Guns In Heaven Poem by Randy McClave

No Guns In Heaven

When you find out that there's no guns in heaven
What will you do I would like you to tell,
And when you find out that Jesus wasn't white
Will you then ask God to send you straight to hell.
When you see the people that you had hated
Because of their race, color and gender they were your foe,
And when you see God loving them each and all
I wonder, if you will then ask God then to throw you below.
I wonder if you could ever feel at home
When you find out in Heaven there's no racism or bigotry,
Will you ask God if you could take the stairway down
Where it leads to evil and hate and of course trickery.
I wonder if you will feel all alone and out of place
When you don't hear cursing or swearing or outlawry,
And when you don't see or hear lying or cheating
Will you then beg God to be sent to purgatory.
What will you yo do when see the souls that you had done wrong
And the ones who had trusted you with a promise and a kiss,
Will your guilt and shame finally overtake you
Or will you then beg God to send you to the great abyss.
