No Look Has Love Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

No Look Has Love

People search,
For that perfect look of love.
Examing from head to toe,
What it is sought to seek.
That matches an image,
On the surface to be exposed.
But later discovered...
Nothing more is below,
What eventually bores...
One quick to nod to sleep.

No look has that love,
To describe found...
As chemistry.
More to keep attractive,
Than looks to fade to admit.

When some folks say,
They were blinded by love.
And this to others,
Needs not be confessed.
Or mentioned to address it.
Since...
For whatever the reason is,
Some love to wear...
Their shoes too tight.
Polka dots with stripes...
And loud plaids together.
With dreads to grow,
To then dye blue.
Red and touches of blond.
This done to do to love.
Is beyond limits to restrict,
To anything defining...
What love is.
Or who should feel,
A need to explain...
The choices they make.
Keeping others awake,
To wonder why...
Love to find it for them,
Looks a lot better...
After a few glasses of wine!
And someone convinced,
The paying the tab...
Ultimately results in benefits!
