No One But I Poem by Geraldine Fernandez

No One But I

No one traversed the roads of thorn just to see you
No one else willing sacrificed everything
No one but I whom your heart falters to know
Bothers not to ask why I have the look of lingering.

People have inexorably passed you by
Too nonchalant to even tell you why
You can never figure out no matter how hard you try
But why feel restless and gloomy, I’m just nearby.

I am here, will always be here for you
Though you’re blinded by sorrow and could not see
All my life I’d always care
My love’s sincere, never bogus, never bare.

Why seek for things you can hardly find?
When all you have to do is to look behind
Why couldn’t you be quite satisfied?
With the one you have just by your side.

No one would give you an endless, genuine love
Who would dare lend you his joy the way I have?
Whose kind heart shall give you mercy?
Mine and not someone else’s for no one loves you eternally
No one but I who die when you cry.
