No One Can Enslave Who We Are Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

No One Can Enslave Who We Are

We pride ourselves with knowledge,
Superior intelligence on earth.
This world is on Destruction's edge,
Somehow Mankind lost his worth.

Around us we can clearly see,
It's greed and corruption that kills,
Lost sight of what we're meant to be,
Retrogression brought us ills.

Values diluted, what's wrong made right.
Perversions are made acceptable.
Our children confused, there is no light
In a world filled with decayed people.

This core of our souls let's not forfeit,
No force on earth can warp or mar,
Our freedom, our laws, we fight to keep,
For no one can enslave who we are.
