Normandy.... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Normandy....

Rating: 4.3

ever heard about D-Day?
I don't, do you?

yes, at this moment I am on Omaha beach

Yesterday we arrived through Cherbourg,
no, none of those names have I heard

I know since I've been here too
when they celebrated their anniversary
it was very nice with all the guests
of the countries that landed their troops here,

on Normandy to free from the Germans
but about the war they told about,
I don't know, never heard, only that shout!

each time we come here
it rains or storms incredibly hard,
you will be blown into the air
passing all famous beaches
Omaha, Arromanches and oter Beaches

really nice to all the nice shops
and restaurants open
and the waiters kindly serve the customers

despite the violent storm, very cozy!

" Large area was suitable for you. You stayed there and gathered many memories. Staying at own home in freedom is very nice. But sometimes in freedom we move ahead and pleasant journey gives us pleasure. Vinhie is growing daily and he is at right age now of course. We send our blessings for your grand child. Telling a story with pinioned vision is great really. his is a great memorable poem excellently penned! ..10"

She left many lovely letters full of emotion. We realize the sad moments she has lived in the past. Thinking of Camille Claudel and her younger brother, you have brought up emotion alive and we feel this truth. Paul never visited till her death this was so sad really. Life was painful as we witness. This poem is very amazingly penned..10..This poem makes us emotional This D-Day poem makes us emotional entirely!

Its a very touching poem. World War II even drew people from as far Southern Africa. In the Harare Gardens Park there is plaque written in vernacular Shona " Takagwa takafira mambo wedu" translated to " We fought and died for our King" . We were a colony then. So yes, even me i wonder if i ever heard of D-Day. No, not me! Great poem.
