Not I Poem by Timothy Lee Hollandsworth Jr.

Not I

Rating: 4.5

Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to be master of time?
Who wants to deal persecution,
And deliver execution?
Who wants to walk my road,
Stare down pasts and futures unknown?
I go down in fancy dress
However, I must confess
The Want is not mine.
No, I say, it is not I.

They Men awards for this.
Who wants an award for empty bliss?
In the end what is my reward?
I tell you, it's at the tip of a sword!
Who wants to claim the prize?
Who wants to lose the whites of their eyes?
I walk the path
But let the truth pass
The want is not mine.
No, I say, it is not I.
