Not Of This World Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Not Of This World

Rating: 5.0

The snake coiled like a sullen lie
She rests in the arms of dragons
Her innocents just a veneer
From the east come the wagons

These pilgrims with guns
Their mission is called freedom
They are the conquerors
Natives wait and watch them

I know longer believe in America
Propaganda history, power rules
It is all damned
Democracy is not truth

Live in serenity and simplicity
Give, forgive and let go
Walk humbly and do your best
Remember this is not your home

Be careful not to be too political
The Roman Empire will fall
Try to help without despair
The Rock of Ages is our call

For now the earth is the devils
Soon the wars will be unfurled
Love from on high is my nation
My Kingdom is not of this world
