Not Of Your Interest Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Not Of Your Interest

Don't think you know me to know me less.
Or perceive you can show me,
What from you I will accept.
My experiences are many.
And my mistakes to have made,
I don't intend to repeat.
Failing to get up on my feet to walk tall,
Have been the best moments of my life.
To recognize those,
Who sincerely wished someday I would succeed.
And they did not know me either.
But they showed to me to expose,
Respect, acceptance and courtesy.
And this I have never received from you.
Although it has been years you have claimed,
To know me.
But all that you know about me is my name.
And not my heart you have yet to touch.
Because it was not of your interest.
It to you,
Was unimportant.
